The client for this piece was the Math Department of JJC. What they wanted to do was redo spaces in the department. For my design, I drew inspiration from Ed Sheeran's Mathematics album covers and one of his albums, =, was the main inspiration for this design. So obviously music plays a big part in the project. And my goal was to make math approachable and seem fun for students, rather than reminding them of how much it stresses them out, which was why I chose to use a colorful, playful background. The symbols that were used were the addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and equal symbols, since those symbols are the ones that are most recognizable. I also used Helvetica font for them since that is the most basic font.
